Fuego Pillow Case

$148.00

Spanish for Fire, Fuego played a very important part in both Mayan farming and Mayan ceremonial rituals. One of the four elements, fire is a sign of strength and vitality, but also of transformation. The Mayan Fire Ceremony was meant to give energy to participants and also to sustain Mother Earth. Participants would make offerings upon an altar and light them on fire while reciting the Sacred Days of the tzolk’in or chol q’ij. The immense respect for fire and its transformative powers were in mind during the creation of this design.
